biography

KARTINI is a Berlin-based singer and songwriter known for Ethereal Bass Pop: a cinematic blend of indie pop, electronic music, deep bass, and emotional songwriting. Influenced by artists such as FKA twigs, BANKS and Bob Moses, her music combines intimate lyricism with atmospheric production, immersive electronica, and vulnerable yet powerful vocals.

Music has been part of her life from an early age. Raised between a deeply musical Indonesian family background and her father’s eclectic record collection, KARTINI began writing songs at thirteen and performed live for the first time a year later. From 2012 to 2016, she was the lead singer of the future house band COMODO before moving to Berlin in 2018 to launch her solo project.

Berlin became both a musical and personal turning point. Surrounded by Indie and electronic music culture and a diverse creative community, KARTINI gradually developed the atmospheric and emotionally charged sound that defines her work today. Following her debut EP Shapeshifter, she continues to establish herself as a rising voice within Berlin’s alternative pop scene through immersive live performances, intimate storytelling, and community-driven creative projects.
